Why Does the Gate Matter More Than the Fence?
The gate is the only part of your fence that moves, and it moves every day. A fence panel just stands there; a gate leaf carries its full weight on two or three hinges through thousands of swings a year. That's why we build ours in-house and hang them on deep-set posts — so the gate still latches clean years from now.
-
Built by Holden, not bought off a shelf
We build our gates ourselves instead of hanging a pre-fab panel from a catalog. The frame gets squared before it ever leaves the shop, so the gate you get was built for your opening — not the closest stock size.
-
Sized for how you actually use it
A walk gate for people, mowers, and trash cans. A double drive gate wide enough for trucks, boats, and RVs. We size the opening to your equipment, not a catalog default.
-
Hardware you don’t fight with
Adjustable hinges, two-sided lockable latches, drop rods on double leaves. Where pool code applies: self-closing hinges and a self-latching lock set at code height.
-
Hung to swing true — and kept that way
Gate posts set deeper than the fence line, concrete cured before the leaf hangs, hinges we can re-tension in minutes. If a gate sags because of how we installed it, the 1-year workmanship warranty covers the fix.
Which Gate Do You Need?
Three products cover nearly every yard and driveway: a walk gate for people, a double drive gate for vehicles, and an automatic gate operator when you want either one to open itself. Match the material to your fence — wood, vinyl, aluminum, chain link, or steel privacy — then pick hardware for how the gate actually gets used.
-
Walk gates
single leaf · everyday access
The gate your family uses every day — people, mowers, trash cans. Framed square and hung on adjustable hinges so it still latches clean years in, instead of dragging by year two.
-
Double drive gates
two leaves · vehicle access
Two leaves that meet in the middle with a drop rod anchoring one side. The standard answer for trucks, trailers, boats, RVs, and backyard concrete pours. Each leaf hangs on its own deep-set post.
-
Automatic gate operators
motorized · opens itself
An operator added to a walk or double drive gate so it opens from your vehicle or a keypad. Ask for automation-ready prep and we set heavier posts and run conduit during the install — add the operator the same week or years later.
Matched to your fence
Wood, vinyl, aluminum, chain link, or steel privacy — including our Infini Steel line — the gate matches your fence’s picket profile, height, color, and hardware finish, so it reads as part of the fence instead of an afterthought.
Automation-ready prep
Planning an operator now or later? We set heavier gate posts and run low-voltage conduit while the holes are open. Retrofitting power to a gate post later usually means trenching through cured concrete and finished landscaping.
Latches, hinges, and drop rods
Gravity latches for daily use, two-sided lockable latches for security, self-latching pool-code hardware where required. Double drives get drop rods and cane bolts.
How Do Gate Payments Work?
We price gates the same way we price fences: by the payment. Run the instant estimator and it shows the down payment and bi-weekly payment options for your exact gate, with plans that run three, four, or five years and a low down payment. Adding an operator folds into the same payment instead of becoming a separate bill.

What Happens During a Gate Installation?
Every gate install runs the same four stages: locate utilities and check swing clearance, set the gate posts deep in concrete and let them cure, build and hang the leaf, then walk the finished gate with you. Most gate-only jobs take two short visits, because the concrete cures fully before the gate hangs.
-
Site prep
Utility locate (811 call), grade and swing-clearance check, post holes marked. Downhill openings need extra ground clearance, and we confirm swing direction with you before digging.
-
Set the gate posts
Gate posts carry the full hanging weight of the leaf, so they go deeper than standard line posts and get set in concrete, plumb-checked twice. Then the concrete cures before anything hangs on it. Rushing this step is where sagging gates come from.
-
Build and hang
The leaf is framed, squared, and hung on adjustable hinges — this is where building our own gates pays off. Latch set at a comfortable height, self-latching where pool code applies, and the leaf gapped for seasonal movement.

Gate Questions, Answered
How do you keep a gate from sagging?
Three things stop a Holden gate from sagging: a frame we build and square ourselves instead of a pre-fab panel, gate posts set deeper than the fence line and left to cure before the leaf hangs, and adjustable hinges we can re-tension in minutes. On a Holden gate the frame carries the load — the pickets are just cladding. And if a gate sags because of how we installed it, the 1-year workmanship warranty covers the fix.
Can I add an automatic gate operator?
Yes. We install automatic gate operators on walk and double drive gates, opening from your vehicle or a keypad. If you're even considering one, ask for automation-ready prep at install: heavier posts and conduit run while the holes are open, so the operator can be added the same week or years later without trenching through finished landscaping. The operator folds into the same down payment and bi-weekly payment as the rest of the project — no separate bill.
How wide should a gate be for a mower or RV?
Measure your widest machine and add at least 6 inches of clearance. A 48-inch walk gate clears most zero-turn mower decks; go wider for a tractor with attachments. Trailers, boats, and RVs need a double drive gate — 10 feet minimum, 12 feet comfortable, and wider still if you back in at an angle from a narrow street. We size the opening to your equipment before we dig.
Can you build a gate to match my existing fence?
Yes. We match picket profile, height, stain or color, and hardware finish across wood, vinyl, aluminum, chain link, and steel privacy. The new gate hangs on its own posts set deeper than your fence line, so it never loads your existing panels. If your fence material is discontinued, we show you the closest available match before any work starts.
What warranty comes with a gate?
Every gate is covered by our 1-Year Workmanship Warranty — installation workmanship, gate alignment caused by installation, and latch and hardware issues caused by workmanship are all in scope. That includes adjustment: wood moves as it dries, so if your gate needs a hinge re-tension in the first year, we come back and square it at no charge. Manufacturer warranties on hardware and material apply on top. Licensed and insured since 2017.
